An inquest into the death of an ice hockey player, who died at the Sheffield Arena last weekend, has opened today. Nottingham Panthers player Adam Johnson passed away after an incident on the ice against the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday night. A coroner has offered her “sincere condolences” to his family and friends. The 29-year-old American was playing for the Panthers against Sheffield Steelers on Saturday when he was seriously injured.
