Ross Pierschbacher, an offensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles, blocks during an NFL preseason game against the New England Patriots on August 19, 2021.
The Philadelphia Eagles have released Ross Pierschbacher, who was released by the team, to fill a roster spot for former Philadelphia offensive tackle Brett Toth.
Toth played 17 games for the Eagles in 2020 and 2021, but spent 2022 on the list and started 2023 on the practice squad.
Carolina signed Toth on October 25 and played in three games before being waived by the Panthers on Monday. Pierschbacher, a former Alabama player, was released from the Eagles’ practice squad this week. He was in his fourth week with Philadelphia and joined the Eagles’ practice squad on November 13. Pierschbacher was the second former Alabama player released from the Eagles’ practice squad this week. He had been out of the NFL since August 13 when the Detroit Lions released him with an injury settlement. He played the first nine offensive snaps in Detroit’s preseason opener and left the game with 7:04 left in the first quarter.
