GOOD NEWS: Tottenham Announce a great player who just signed a new contract with the club that will run until the summer of 2025
Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Fraser Forster has just signed a new contract with the club, which will keep him in North London until 2025.
Fraser Forster signed for Tottenham last summer, to provide cover and competition for former number one, Hugo Lloris. By the end of the 2022/23 campaign, Forster had usurped the Frenchman, due to injury and poor form.
The 35-year-old has made 21 appearances for the Lilywhites in the last 18 months (Transfermarkt), but Guglielmo Vicario, a recent addition, has once again obstructed his path to regular first team football.
Forster has only made one appearance for Spurs this season (Transfermarkt), a Carabao Cup cameo in the team’s third-round loss to Fulham, despite the Italian being in excellent form.
Still, with Lloris at the bottom of the pecking order, and young goalkeeper Brandon Austin not quite at Premier League level, Forster does have an important role to play in the Tottenham squad, especially if Vicario was to suffer any injury.
Forster signs new deal with Spurs
Thus, it should come as no surprise that Tottenham has taken steps to ensure Forster’s future by making a new contract offer to their number-two goalkeeper.
The 35-year-old signed a new contract with the club today, tying him to the N17 through the summer of 2025.
When speaking about his new deal, Forster stated, “I’ve loved being at the club since the moment I got here.” I’ve enjoyed my time here so far, and I’m happy to stay longer. Working with the new manager has been amazing; he’s been in and everyone adores him.
It’s wonderful to be a part of what we’re producing and the atmosphere that you can see in the stadium. It’s wonderful to support the team in any manner I can. Not just the keepers, but everyone has benefited greatly from [Postecoglou] allowing us to play freely outside.
I’m hoping to stay for as long as I can. We have an amazing group. It’s clear that [Vicario] entered and performed admirably. All I can do is continue to put in a lot of effort in my training and help the other boys.

This is a smart move by the club. Forster is definitely good enough to be our number two keeper, and is of the right sensibility to understand that this is his role without being unhappy at not playing more.
