LeBron James climbed into eighth place on the NBA’s all-time three-pointer rankings during the LA Lakers’ 125-110 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old, who is the NBA’s all-time leading points scorer, landed 28 points for his team during the match, including three three-pointers.
It meant he overtook Jason Terry, after making the 2,283rd three-point shot of his career, with James now seven away from overtaking Vince Carter in seventh, who sits on 2,290.
Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry currently holds the record, with 3,452 three-pointers.
While James’ historic shot came with two minutes left on the clock, he couldn’t inspire his team to victory with
the Lakers suffering their first defeat in four matches, having previously beaten the Phoenix Suns, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Memphis Grizzlies.
James, who is being backed to make his 20th straight NBA All-Star game later this season, also moved to fifth in the NBA’s all-time triple doubles list.
