Sandro Tonali, who joined Newcastle United in the summer, requires time to adjust to the club, therefore the club shouldn’t place too much pressure on him.
According to journalist Andrea Locorotondo, the Italian has found it difficult to manage Newcastle’s demanding schedule as a result of playing in the Champions League.
One of the more remarkable transactions of the summer transfer window involved Tonali’s €64 million transfer to Newcastle.
During his three years at AC Milan, he had firmly established himself as one of the show’s stars after overcoming early obstacles to establish his value.
Tonali notably impressed during their run to the Champions League semi-finals the previous season, and it was probably because of this that Newcastle made him their high-profile summer acquisition as they prepared for their return to the league.
Early indications for the 23-year-old are promising, and his goal on his professional debut in the crushing of Aston Villa has set expectations soaring through the roof.
Locorotondo advises reserving such hopes because he thinks Tonali won’t be at his peak for Newcastle for some time.
“His season has off to a strong start. Maybe getting a goal in his first game has “stimulated” him a little,” he remarked.
“The Newcastle supporters raised the boy’s aspirations. We all acknowledge that Tonali is not a goal scorer, but he is a team player.
“He requires time to adjust to a league that is new to him, one that is as physical and quick as the Premier League, and, once again, the Magpies’ schedule most definitely did not help the talent from Brescia to fully integrate into Howe’s game with the essential timing.
“You always have to go full pace when you have to play City, Liverpool, and Brighton one after the other. Enough is enough.
