Two minutes later, Eriksen caught the San Marino defense off guard with an exquisite backheel into the path of the advancing Joakim Maehle, who took the ball past the goalkeeper and finished the play easily. In his 123rd appearance for Denmark, Eriksen recorded his second assist, setting up striker Wind to score in the 40th minute. He then scored himself in stoppage time of the second half when a speculative cross caught San Marino goalkeeper Elia Benedettini off guard.
