The play, written by Phyllis Zimbler Miller, a 1966 graduate of Elgin High School, features accounts from Holocaust survivors and their families that she collected.
Students involved with the play also visited the Illinois Holocaust Museum, according to an online news release.
Kane prosecutor honored for DUI cases by AAIM The Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists recently named Kane County Assistant State’s Attorney Katy Flannagan its 2023 Outstanding Assistant State’s Attorney.
It is the second time Flannagan has been recognized for her work as a DUI prosecutor, according to a news release.
In 2022, she was named a MADD Hero by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for her DUI enforcement work.
Flannagan has been supervisor of the state’s attorney’s DUI and Major Traffic Unit since spring 2022.
Through October 2023, the unit filed felony charges in 311 DUI cases, which is on pace to surpass the 360 felony DUI cases filed in 2022, according to the release.

military.
Gift cards from Amazon, Sam’s Club, Costco and Dollar Tree can be delivered to the St.
Charles, 406 Surrey Woods Drive, Unit A, for the America’s Holiday Socks campaign led by the Support Our Troops Campaign.
“Our troops make many sacrifices for their country, including being away from their families during important holidays,” Ugaste said in a statement.
“Gift cards can give them the opportunity to buy gifts for loved ones or treat themselves this holiday season.
” Card donation deadline is Tuesday, November 11.
