Daniel Farke unsure whether Patrick Bamford or Charlie Cresswell will be available for Leeds United’s clash with Plymouth Argyle.
Farke was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the final game before the international break, where he provided an extensive injury update
Both Djed Spence and Stuart Dallas remain long-term absentees, while Jamie Shackleton and Joe Gelhardt also out for the second successive week.
Pascal Struijk is the highest profile name to add to the injury list after undergoing surgery in London following last week’s win at Leicester City due to an ongoing hernia issue.
And Leeds could also be without both Bamford and Cresswell, with the former having suffered with illness at the start of the week, and the latter due to ‘private reasons’.
Farke unsue on Cresswell and Bamford availabilityr
Farke is hopeful he will be able to call on both players against Plymouth but was non-committal either way as to whether they will feature.
He said: “They are two little question marks with Patrick Bamford, he has missed the first sessions of this week due to illness. He was just back in team training today and we have to hope his body his reacts, as it was just a light session today.
“I hope he’s available. Also Charlie Cresswell missed the beginning of the week due to private reasons, but I hope he’s available. We will have to see.
With Struijk missing, Cresswell will definitely be needed on the bench on Saturday, having missed out on the last four matchday squads.
However, private reasons are private reasons and Leeds will give him as much time as he needs. Bamford, meanwhile, is still looking to get back into a rhythm of playing.
He has been reduced to appearances off the bench only since returning from injury and so it would be a disappointment if he was to miss out, with a two-week break coming up.
