Donny van de Beek of Manchester United has had a “new setback” as a result of Erik ten Hag leaving him off the roster for the Champions League group stage.
According to NOS, the only way for him to ‘escape from a dismal scenario’ at Old Trafford is through a late move to a nation where the window is still open.
The Manchester United player may choose to move to Turkey or Belgium, where Royal Antwerp and Galatasaray, respectively, are’still interested’ in signing him.
Considering that the window in Belgium closes later today and the one in Turkey is open until September 15th, Royal Antwerp will only have a short time to try to sign the midfielder.
Since moving from Ajax to Manchester United in 2020, Van de Beek has had trouble getting into games, and things didn’t get any better when Ten Hag, his old manager, took over the Premier League team last year.
The Dutchman was limited to 294 minutes from 10 appearances last season due to two different injuries.
The NOS report that a late transfer away from Manchester United seems to be the greatest option for Van de Beek after missing out on transfers to Real Sociedad and FC Lorient.
