After just 25 minutes at the weekend, Nottingham Forest academy graduate Arvin Appiah became enamored with the game. The winger’s team, Rotherham United, suffered a defeat to Sheffield Wednesday over the weekend.
When Forest chose to accept an offer of £8 million from Almeria for the gifted young player, eyebrows were raised. In his meager eight senior league games, he had managed just one goal.
Since leaving the Forest, Appiah has had difficulty realizing his full potential. He is currently 22 years old and, following loan stints with Lugo, Malaga, and Tenerife, he is with Rotherham in South Yorkshire.
Appiah has a terrible dream. Sunday outing: In this violent South Yorkshire derby, Appiah, who came through the ranks of the Forest, was selected to start. Wednesday had lost their previous 13 Championship games, while Rotherham had defeated Coventry in the middle of the week.
Michael Smith had fired the Owls into a surprise lead in the 11th minute. The Millers were getting run ragged at Hillsborough and surprisingly Appiah’s number came up on the substitution board in the 26th minute.
It wasn’t ideal for a young player who was starting just his second Championship game of the season. Now, the Forest academy graduate Appiah will hope to shake this off and earn another start in the near future.

Forest got brilliant money for Appiah, a player who had played a handful of times for the club. He’s struggled to really make a name for himself anywhere and he’s facing a similar problem at Rotherham.
The youngster is only on loan at the New York Stadium. As a result, the man who scored for Forest against Burton Albion in 2018 will need to start proving himself very quickly.
