Latest Tottenham injury news as Ange Postecoglou has some big decisions to ponder after several big blows ahead of facing Crystal Palace
Ange Postecoglou has a nervy wait over several of his Tottenham stars ahead of the trip to Crystal Palace on Friday. It’s a game that could see Spurs extend their lead at the top of the table to five points ahead of their rivals playing over the weekend but won’t be as simple as the table suggests
Roy Hodgson’s men have only scored seven times this term but boast a better defensive record than Brighton, Aston Villa and Manchester United so far. Selhurst Park is also an infamously tricky stadium to play at, especially under the lights, and Postecoglou is starting to feel the strain on his relatively shallow squad.
Spurs were already missing Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic from their group as well as the suspended Yves Bissouma for the 2-0 win over Fulham but things have gotten worse on the fitness front. Although Bissouma is back having missed his one game for the red card picked up against Luton there are defensive questions remaining.
Destiny Udogie, who went off shortly after the second goal on Monday, is a doubt for the game and isn’t being helped by the shorter turnaround in-between games. Meanwhile Pape Matar Sarr was also taken off early at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“The two main ones from the other night are Pape and Destiny,” Postecoglou revealed ahead of the clash with the Eagles. “Pape is fine, he bounced back sort of 24 hours after the game. He had a bit of an illness but has trained well.
“Destiny we are still going to assess. Obviously it is a short turnaround from the other night. We’ll have a look today, see how things go and make a decision after that. Everyone else has come through fine and is available.
