For injured defender Juan Fuentes, Nottingham Forest will try to win their final two games of the season. The Spaniard, making his debut for the team, suffered what the team fears is a serious knee injury just before halftime in Tuesday night’s 3-0 home win over Barnsley. He was taken off the field on a stretcher after getting into a challenge with Dimitri Cavare, and he was later taken to the hospital. Fuentes had only signed a short-term contract with the Reds until the end of the season, so he had to wait his turn
Although his future at the City Ground is in doubt, boss Aitor Karanka says the team will target victories over Bristol City on Saturday and then Bolton Wanderers in their last match, in his honour.
“It appears to be a serious knee injury. However, we’re not sure yet. Karanka remarked, “Let’s see if it is better than we think.”
It is unfortunate that despite his January arrival, the player has not had the opportunity to assist us on the field. However, he has aided us in training because he was performing admirably and was biding his time.
“He sustained that injury when he had the opportunity. However, we will now aim to win the upcoming games in his honor.
