Nicolas Dominguez, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, waited for AC Milan during the summer, but a transfer never materialized. On the day of the transfer deadline, the Reds acquired the Argentina international, and so far, he is showing great value.
The Serie A team Bologna paid less than £10 million for the midfield player that the Reds acquired. He was involved in a transaction that resulted in Remo Freuler going in a different direction, and he is fast winning over the fans
Since leaving Serie A, Dominguez has now made four appearances for the Reds. The 25-year-old exudes confidence and has adapted to life in the Premier League with great ease.
Dominguez awaited AC Milan before switching to Forest.
Not much about this is surprising. Since joining Forest, Dominguez has played excellently, so it’s hardly shocking that other teams were keeping an eye on him before the Reds took advantage of him.
Dominguez recently talked about his relocation in an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio. He was hoping for a transfer to Milan, but is thrilled that Forest was his final destination.
“Yes, there was talk about it (interest from AC Milan) and I read a bit about it,” he asserted in the interview.
Dominguez is a great find for the Reds Forest signed Ibrahim Sangare concurrently with Dominguez, and the Ivorian was anticipated to be the star. But in the end, the Argentine has been the player who has drawn attention.
Considering that Forest acquired him for a very low cost, it’s amazing how well he’s adjusted to life in the Premier League. Steve Cooper will understand that he is now essential to the team and will probably stay on it.
The fact that Dominguez is only 25 years old is actually rather alarming. He still has room to improve, and Forest did well in locking him down to a long-term deal.
