Titans Turn H-Town Into T-Town With Victory Over Texans
HOUSTON – The Tennessee Titans stormed into NRG Stadium on Sunday and emerged victorious over the Houston Texans, leaving a sea of blue in their wake as they turned H-Town into “T-Town” for the day.
The Titans delivered a strong performance, securing a 27-17 win over their AFC South rivals. It was a pivotal division clash, and Tennessee came prepared, controlling the pace of the game on both sides of the ball.
Derrick Henry Shines Yet Again
Star running back Derrick Henry was the undeniable star of the show, extending his legacy of dominance against the Texans. Henry rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns, bulldozing through defenders with his signature blend of power and speed. His effort not only energized his team but also silenced a stadium filled with hopeful Texans fans.
“Derrick’s a beast. When we give him space to work, he makes magic happen,” said Titans quarterback Will Levis, who also contributed with a steady performance, throwing for 210 yards and a touchdown.
Texans Struggle to Find Momentum
Houston, meanwhile, struggled to find their rhythm. Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud showed flashes of brilliance but faced relentless pressure from the Titans’ defense. Stroud finished with 235 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception, but the Texans couldn’t sustain drives when it mattered most.
The Texans’ ground game was virtually nonexistent, with Tennessee’s defensive front stifling every attempt. Running back Dameon Pierce was limited to just 35 yards on 12 carries.
“We couldn’t execute, plain and simple,” said Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans. “The Titans brought the fight, and we didn’t respond the way we needed to.”
Turning the Division Tide
The win marks a critical step for the Titans as they aim to climb back into playoff contention. Tennessee improved to 6-5, narrowing the gap in the AFC South standings, while the Texans fell to 4-7, their postseason hopes fading.
Fans in Houston were left disappointed as Tennessee’s traveling supporters filled NRG Stadium with chants of “Tighten Up.” The Titans’ ability to take control of the game and the crowd underscored their dominance.
As the Texans lick their wounds, the Titans head back to Nashville with momentum and renewed confidence, proving yet again why they remain a force to be reckoned with in the AFC South.
