Real Madrid’s interest in Girona winger Savinho is the subject of a story published today by the Spanish publication Fichajes, which also includes Manchester City.
According to their report, the Brazilian has emerged as “one of the great revelations” in La Liga this season, and the Galacticos have been paying attention to him lately.
Real Madrid will attempt to sign Savinho when he returns to Girona in the summer after he is loaned to the French team by Troyes.
The issue is that Savinho genuinely hopes to play for Manchester City and is currently a member of a City Group club.
According to the report, the winger hopes that his strong season at Girona will allow him to “attract the attention of Pep Guardiola,” which “could frustrate Real Madrid plans” to sign him.
That story does make sense, as Savinho expressed his desire to play for Manchester City in an interview with Spanish media last week. That’s among the explanations for his rejection of an Arsenal transfer last season.
“Yes,” I was aware that Troyes belonged to the City Group, and I believed that if I worked hard, I could eventually get to Manchester City. Naturally, I’ll need to perform exceptionally well here in Girona,” he stated.
Guardiola’s wish is all that is required for Manchester City to complete the transfer, as they would clearly have an easier time obtaining him from Troyes.
