Over the most recent international break, Osimhen was reportedly being tracked by the Reds. After that, the story changed to include rumors that negotiations with the representatives of the Napoli strikers had already started.
Journalist Valter De Maggio, who resides in Naples, claims that Liverpool has now made progress in those negotiations.
In fact, De Maggio stated that Osimhen and the Reds now have an agreement in place while speaking with Televomero via Arena Napoli. The journalist claims that Liverpool is to blame for the collapse of the Nigerian’s contract negotiations with Napoli.
“What took place? An additional club from the Premier League was added. I’m referring to Liverpool,” he says.
There would be regular communication, but I recently found out that there would also be agreements in place. To be clear, Napoli would not be involved in the agreements; they would only be between the Reds and the player.
“We can’t be sure, but I hope that Azzurri president Aurelio De Laurentiis will be able to keep Victor Osimhen at least until June.”
Liverpool and Osimhen reach a deal.
To be clear, Victor Osimhen is a great player who would undoubtedly succeed at Liverpool.
However, the Reds don’t really need him as of yet.
Sneering at a player who cost Napoli £70 million and has scored 65 goals in 111 games since then may seem petty. But it is the reality.
It would be appropriate to note that such strikers are not frequently available for purchase. It’s also important to bring up his expiring contract and some problems at his current club.
Say, though, that Liverpool decides to spend big money to sign Osimhen. Who gives him room to move? He isn’t cutting in from the left and doing what Mo does in a world without Mohamed Salah.
Luis Diaz won’t be replaced by him on the left, either. No, Osimhen needs to play in the middle of the field.
In his squad, Jurgen Klopp already has three excellent and very distinct options to accomplish that. We don’t see how this will result in anything, unless one of those three departs, which seems unlikely.
