The $92 million forward for the Maple Leafs returns earlier than planned.
Supporters of the Toronto Maple Leafs are free to criticize forward and Core Four member William Nylander all they want, but the top player simply wasn’t able to put in a better effort as he prepared for the upcoming campaign.
Much earlier than most people expected, Nylander returned to Canada early to take part in a photo shoot for Sherwood Hockey and the launch of a new hockey stick called the “Feather Lite XT.”
This move may cause the forward to return to the rink sooner than anticipated and begin training camp at the beginning of September, which would allow him to begin getting ready for the 2024–25 campaign. However, it is not directly tied to his early return to the Leafs training facilities.
The Sherwood Hockey PR team posted on its official Instagram account, saying, “Optimal balance. ideal sensation. “#CodeEncrypt #TeamSherwood #Featherlite XT Technology” was posted alongside an image of Nylander using the new stick.
Nylander had an incredible season last season, finishing with a career-high 98 points and 40 goals while playing in all 82 of the Leafs’ regular-season games.
Alexander joined the elder Nylander brother earlier this season after being added to the Leafs organization, and he has been keeping up his physical fitness all summer.
Nylander and the Maple Leafs agreed to a massive eight-year, $92 million contract extension that will last through the 2031–2032 season. Being so dedicated to Toronto matches both the terms of the big contract and what Nylander means to the team.
