Brandon Aguilera of Nottingham Forest has been featured in the Latin American media today.
Following Costa Rica’s U-23 friendlies versus Colombia, Teletica publishes a piece suggesting that it is now evident that there are a couple of players who appear to be ready for first-team duty, and the midfielder is one of them.
The outlet claims that the national team is eager to’renew itself,’ and it quotes analyst Pablo Izaguirre, who makes remarks about him and colleague Kenneth Vargas.
“It has been important to be out of the country and that is good for them and for La Sele, as they will continue to grow, especially with the experienced senior players when they are called up” .
Aguilera has already made his first team debut and has ten appearances for them, but owing to a lack of playing time in professional football, he has been switching between the U-23 and the main squad.
In the summer of 2022, Nottingham Forest signed the midfielder from Costa Rican club LD Alajuelense. Following his arrival in England, he was loaned back to Central America, where he joined Guanacasteca, before being transferred to Portuguese side Estoril in January.
The teenager ended up sticking with the Tricky Trees for the 2023/24 season, even making his debut as a late substitute in the EFL Cup defeat to Burnley. Now he waits for additional opportunities to establish himself and, as a result, play more games for Costa Rica.
