The latest Nottingham Forest news as the winger was on the bench for the Euro 2024 qualifier in Belgium which was abandoned at half-time after players heard the news of the shootings
Anthony Elanga of Nottingham Forest has reacted to a statement made by the Swedish national football team’s Twitter account following the shooting deaths of two fans prior to their match against Belgium.
Players left the field for the second half of the game after learning of the event, with the score being tied at 1 at the break. Fans were safely evacuated from the stadium later that night when the game was officially called off more than an hour later.
Two Swedish nationals were killed in the attack on Monday night, which is believed to have occurred around three miles from the stadium and about 45 minutes before kickoff. The shooting is being investigated as a terrorist act, and police in Brussels have subsequently killed the shooter.
