Jonjo Shelvey discusses his Reds exile and transfer to Turkish club Rizespor in the most recent Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive.
On his banishment from Nottingham Forest, Jonjo Shelvey has spoken candidly. After a disagreement with Forest manager Steve Cooper, the 31-year-old midfielder is presently on loan at Turkish club Rizespor.
Shelvey only recently began a two-and-a-half year contract with the City Ground from Newcastle United. However, he only made eight Premier League appearances for the team before being cut.
In the final stages of the previous campaign, when Forest clinched its place in the Premier League, he was not active. Before being loaned out to Rizespor, he first attended a preseason training session in Spain without his teammates.

Shelvey told our sister publication Chronicle Live that it “hurt massively” to be informed that he wouldn’t be playing for Forest and that he would have to train by himself on a nearby Ponteland pitch. “My missus knew what kind of state my mental side was in,” he stated.
Shelvey admitted that he “fell out of love” with the sport, but he is now “enjoying football” while on loan at Caykur Rizespor and is even residing at the team’s training facility.
