BREAKING NEWS: Lexi make a “SHOCKING” Speech on Legacy at Marsden….
Alex Glenn, a Broncos community ambassador, attended the year 12 class at Marsden State High School earlier last month for their badge ceremony.
Speaking about his personal path and urging the students to make the most of their senior year, the former captain addressed the class of 2024.
“Be excited for the journey you’re about to embark on this year,” Alex said.
“It’s not going to be easy but it’s an exciting challenge, so make the most of that opportunity every single day.
Alex’s visit comes as the Broncos Pasifika Mentoring Program gears up for its second year at the school.
The program’s goal is to help the many Māori and Pasifika students reach their full potential by providing them with daily mentorship and support from mentors situated in schools.
Faith Tavete, the captain of the school, is a strong supporter of the program; she received guidance from mentors Masini and Whitney in order to advance to her leadership role.
So inspired by their support, Faith now plans on studying social work next year and following in the mentors’ footsteps.
“I go to see Masini and Whitney every day and seeing what they do just inspired me,” Faith said.
“Next year I plan to study social work so I can help kids like they do.”
