A Wayne County Airport Authority spokesman promptly refuted Maddock’s allegation, telling the Detroit Free Press that the buses were, in fact, for men’s basketball players visiting the city for the NCAA Tournament. The Gonzaga men’s basketball team, which arrived in Detroit that evening, and tweets from a local reporter were among the additional context that X users provided to the lawmaker’s post.
However, Maddock stepped up.
“Our country is being overrun with 100,000 illegal immigrants. We are aware that Michigan is the location.
