Panthers v Eels: Kenny, Sorensen back; Moses good to go
The Panthers and Eels will square off at BlueBet Stadium on Friday night to pen a new chapter in the long-running western rivalry in rugby league.
Ivan Cleary’s Panthers will be eager to return to winning ways when they take on their Western Sydney rivals, having now dropped two straight after losing to Wigan in the World Club Challenge and being shut out by Melbourne in Round 1.

The Panthers will welcome back hooker Mitch Kenny into the starting lineup on Friday to make sure the three-time premiership-winning spine is back to its well-oiled self after giving up nine penalties and coughing up 12 errors.
Conversely, the Eels enter Round 2 brimming with confidence following a sophisticated 26-8 triumph over the Bulldogs on Saturday night and will be excited to visit the Penrith stronghold again after defeating the premiers there 32–18 in Round 26 of the previous season.
Even though Mitch Moses had a groin injury during the season opener on Saturday and had to delegate kicking duties to his colleagues, the Eels announced on Monday that the standout halfback would be ready for the Round 2 matchup.
Panthers team news: Luke Garner is benched and Luke Sommerton is dropped as Scott Sorensen and Mitch Kenny return to the forward position. Brad Schneider, Matt Eisenhuth, and Paul Alamoti were the players cut off the roster when it was reduced to 19 on Thursday night.
Eels: Head coach Brad Arthur starts with the same starting lineup that defeated the Bulldogs in the first round. A reserve player, Wiremu Greig is trying to make a comeback from a hamstring injury. Luca Moretti, an Italian international, is the other member on the 19-man roster that was announced 24 hours before kickoff.
