Forward Michael Rasmussen signs a four-year contract extension with Detroit Red Wings
Michael Rasmussen, a forward, has agreed to a four-year, $12.8 million contract deal with the Detroit Red Wings.
The trade was revealed by the Red Wings on Tuesday. The team hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2015–16 campaign.
In 55 games this season, the 24-year-old Rasmussen has skated and recorded 11 goals and 12 assists. His rating is + 11. The past three seasons, he has scored double digits in goals. Rasmussen played in 56 games with the Red Wings last season, setting career highs in assists (19) and points (29).
After making his NHL debut as a 19-year-old in 2018–19, Rasmussen, the ninth overall choice in the 2017 NHL draft, has 47 goals, 62 assists, and 197 penalty minutes in 293 games with Detroit. He performed in roles as well.
Spent three seasons with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League (2018–21). The Canadian performed during the epidemic in Austria.
Rasmussen played parts of four seasons with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League before becoming pro.
