The Kansas City Chiefs players and their family are horrified by the shooting that occurred during Wednesday’s Super Bowl parade.
Following the shooting outside Kansas City’s Union Station that left one person dead and at least 22 injured, Brittany Mahomes called the incident “traumatizing.”

Chief of Kansas City Police Stacey Graves announced on Wednesday that three people had been placed under arrest in relation to the incident.
Among the 22 injured were nine children.
The Kansas City Star reports that Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and a local DJ who was a fan of the Chiefs, passed away during surgery after being shot in the abdomen.

Following the shooting, the Chiefs quarterback wrote on X, “praying for Kansas City.”
The parade started at 11 a.m. central time, and after about 90 minutes, Chiefs players addressed the cheering crowd on stage during a rally at Union Station.On Instagram, Brittany Mahomes responded to the shooting at the Chiefs parade.

Shortly after the event concluded, shots were fired, sending the throng running in fear.
On camera, a fan was shown heroically taking down one of the alleged shooters.
Trey Filter, the fan, remembered hearing “Get him!” and launching into action.
“I swear I thought, ‘I hope this is who they were calling at me to get,’ as I was tackling him. Because I suddenly exclaimed, “Boom!” Actually, I don’t remembered hearing “Get him!” and acting quickly.

The Chiefs announced on Wednesday that every player and their families were “safe and accounted for.”
