Nottingham Forest have had a busy summer once again signing 13 new players ahead of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
Big-money signings of Anthony Elanga and Ibrahim Sangare certainly caught the eye, but it’s one of the cheaper arrivals that has already proven to be a shrewd addition.
Ola Aina joined the Reds on a free transfer, with the 27-year-old already making an instant impact at the City Ground despite playing out of position at left-back.
Aina has produced multiple impressive displays and it’s exciting to see where he could go as a Forest player, however, they must extend his current deal.
Upon his arrival at the club this summer, Aina only signed a one-year deal
Although it is understandable the club offered the former Chelsea man a contract of this length, a new deal should be offered to extend his stay on Trentside.
Should January arrive with no new contract for the 27-year-old yet to sign a new deal, he would be free to speak to overseas sides about a potential move.
He’s been in superb form for Steve Cooper’s side, even receiving two call-ups for the Nigerian national side.
