Returning to the NL Central, Aroldis Chapman will be playing for his fourth team in three years.
Joel Sherman of The Post revealed on Monday that the fire-balling closer and the Pirates have agreed to a one-year, $10.5 million contract.
There are no option years in the agreement.
After playing for the Yankees for more than six seasons (from 2016 to 22), the 35-year-old Chapman found his groove again with the Royals and World Series champion Rangers in the previous campaign.
Throughout the regular season, he threw to a combined 6-5 record, 3.09 ERA, and six saves in 58.1 innings.
Having started his career with the Reds, Chapman became even more effective during the Rangers’ postseason run, recording a 2.37 ERA in 46.1 innings pitched with six holds.

David Bednar, a two-time All-Star closer with a scorching 2.00 ERA and 39 saves this season, will be Chapman’s partner.
Pittsburgh’s 4.27 bullpen ERA from the previous MLB season ranked them 19th.
Chapman struggled in his latter years with the Yankees, recording ERAs of 3.67 and 4.46 in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Chapman won the World Series with the Cubs in 2016.
