Report – WWE Scrapped Major Plans For DIY Reunion Over The Summer
Earlier this week on WWE RAW, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa got back together, and a recent article from Fightful Select revealed that the initial plans were originally scheduled for the summer before being postponed.
With Ciampa set to battle Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship on the June 19th episode of RAW in Cleveland, the hometown of Gargano, WWE had actively planned a DIY reunion during the summer.
The Judgment Day was scheduled to interrupt the match before Gargano entered the arena to make the save.
But in the days before the RAW show, the plans underwent significant changes before being completely abandoned. On the same episode, The Miz and Ciampa engaged in an open challenge match.
The modifications disappointed a number of those engaged with those preparations, and many assumed that Gargano’s injury must have been the primary cause. However, that wasn’t the case.
When Gargano received a clean bill of health in late April, WWE opted not to air him.
