Upon the 75th birthday of the 1985 World Champion, who also won the 1987 Masters, Coalisland natives have been quick to extend their best wishes to him.

Charlie Murdoch called the 1985 decider between himself and Steve Davis “the greatest final ever.”
“I was staying at a hotel near ally pally (Alexandra Palace) ready for snooker the next day and guess who walks out the lift as I’m about to get in,” said Kirsty Butler on the World Snooker Tour’s Facebook page. I could hardly say good morning and have a good day since I was so star struck.
Kenny Durkin also sent a message on Facebook, saying, “Happy Birthday and thank you for the most memorable final ever.”
After thanking everyone for their birthday greetings, Paul Mallett said on X, “Dennis, you look good. I wouldn’t be surprised if you lived to be 180 years old.”Ken Doherty said on his Instagram account, “Happy birthday today to the 1985 Champion of the World, hope you have a great day,” in response to Stephen Hendry’s birthday wishes on his story.
