Daniel Farke was ‘incensed’ by an incident in the second half of Leeds’ victory on Wednesday, according to a report.
After Leeds United defeated QPR on Wednesday, Daniel Farke was ‘incensed’ by a pass that Pascal Struijk mishandled in the second half.
According to Leeds Live, after an overhit pass into midfielder Ethan Ampadu, Farke was ‘waving his arms around’ in Struijk’s general area.
Struijk, whose passing last night and throughout the season has been nearly flawless, fumbled a straightforward pass into Ampadu’s foot, forcing him to scramble to hold onto the ball.
Ampadu, who has really shone out this season for his ability in those midfield duels, was able to salvage the situation, which was fortunate for Struijk and Leeds.
Despite this, Farke expressed his disapproval to Struijk about the event, making it obvious that the Leeds manager is a perfectionist.
Farke ‘incensed’ at Struijk pass for Leeds
This sort of thing is good to hear as it shows Farke is not one to allow standards to slip regardless of the game situation.
Struijk was almost impeccable at everything else he did during the game against QPR, but momentary lapses in concentration are clearly something Farke wants to iron his game.
That pass from Struijk seemed to set the tone for the rest of the second half at Elland Road, with Leeds never really able to find their groove after the break.
It was an incredibly stop-start affair in the second 45 minutes but it is important to acknowledge that Leeds aren’t going to win every game comfortably this season and wins like that are crucial.
Struijk has been one of Leeds’ most consistent performer this season and his partnership with Joe Rodon is currently one of the strongest aspects of Farke’s team.
