There was some positive connection between Matthew Stafford and the Lions.
The main story of the previous weekend was Matthew Stafford’s decision to return to Detroit to play the team that selected him first overall back in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Before the Lions transferred Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams, where he instantly won a Super Bowl, Stafford was a Detroit stalwart for 12 seasons.
After defeating Stafford’s Rams in the wild-card round, the Lions are now in the running for the Super Bowl. However, the main storyline following that game wasn’t about Detroit defeating its old hero, but rather his reaction to a rather vicious hit one of his teammates took near the end of the game.
After the game, the video went viral, becoming such a huge deal that Lions head coach Dan Campbell had to address it.
With Stafford heading into yet another offseason, the Lions will now play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round. Sadly, this drama has the potential to become “the moment” in the Lions and Stafford saga, but it wasn’t the only exchange the quarterback who is on the verge of Hall of Fame had with his original squad.
Actually, a lot of the exchanges were positive.
This is Frank Ragnow, Stafford’s old teammate.:
