When it comes to upgrading and covering offensive roster gaps, the Denver Broncos must set clear priorities.
After the Denver Broncos’ 2023 season ends in two weeks, general manager George Paton and coach Sean Payton will begin a thorough personnel analysis.
The prospects of quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham and Russell Wilson are not the only ones under consideration. After going over each member on the roster, Payton and Paton will create a plan for the 2024 summer.

It’s crucial, in my opinion, to avoid making emotional judgments. Payton stated last Friday, “Period.” The season usually ends. Our team is meeting. On Monday, we will have a meeting with the players. The coaches then spend Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of that week assembling their player reports. It’s mostly pictures, leisure time, and a summary. Next week is when they may enter it into the computer. Then they’re off the next week.
When we return on Monday, whichever day it is, we begin the roster evaluation, which often takes three or maybe four days. They will speak with the trainers. Our next speaker will be the strength coaches. We will go into great detail on each player who enters our doors and participates in every aspect of the program.
The Broncos must make judgments on all of its internal free agents in addition to Wilson (who is anticipated to be released by Denver in March). The starting lineup that will become unrestricted free agents in March comprises Wil Lutz, P.J. Locke, Lloyd Cushenberry, and Josey Jewell.
This spring, Denver will have to make some difficult choices, but it won’t make them quickly. The assessment procedure will shortly start.
