Liverpool transfer news as ace tipped to be ‘high up’ Mohamed Salah list and Spurs may land blow
Liverpool transfer news: Another battle with Spurs may be forthcoming, and a replacement for Mohamed Salah in the event of his departure has been mentioned.
Liverpool was clearly upset by what happened last weekend. In spite of playing well, Jürgen Klopp’s team lost to Spurs in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after traveling from south to north London. Throughout the entire 90 minutes, decisions went against them.
With a well placed shot, Luis Daz thought he had given Liverpool the lead, but offside was ruled. Even after VAR proved that the Colombian was not, in fact, offside, the verdict stood, infuriating Liverpool.
By the time the game was through, Liverpool had just nine men due to the dismissals of Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota.
The incessant chatter of the transfer market rumbles on as another game approaches and the Tottenham game recedes into the distance. We provide you with the most recent rumors and news regarding Liverpool and the transfer market each and every day.
Here is the Liverpool.com assessment of the transfer rumors that have been swirling around the Reds lately, including those involving a current West Ham player and a potential fresh spat with Tottenham over a Premier League defense.
The rumors about Mohamed Salah moving to Saudi Arabia keep coming up. The Egyptian reportedly received strong offers to join the Saudi Pro League in the summer, but chose to remain at Liverpool. But there is no question that the 31-year-old will eventually leave Anfield.
Don Hutchison, a former Liverpool midfielder, thinks West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen would be the perfect Salah substitute. Hutchison stated on Premier League Productions (via HITC): “”I tell you what, this is a player Jarrod Bowen, where if Mo Salah ever leaves Liverpool. Then I imagine that this man will be extremely high up on the radar.
Bowen is a forward with a left foot who usually plays on the right. Salah is the ideal candidate for his job, as he has mentioned in the past.
Bowen has been a very excellent player for West Ham for a number of years, but it’s possible that the team would want to go for a greater name should Salah finally leave Liverpool, according to Liverpool.com. He could possibly be added as a supplemental transfer, but he cannot take over as the main player.
Bowen is also older than the normal Liverpool signing at the age of 26. Despite the club moving
It would only truly leave one ‘cycle’ of four years for the English forward to make an impression next summer. That’s not strictly a deal-breaker, but because West Ham is probably going to demand a premium price, it seems to be a dead end.
Recent months have seen Liverpool linked with a transfer for Bournemouth center defender Lloyd Kelly (via Football Insider). Next summer, when his contract expires, he would be a good free agent option.
However, it appears that Tottenham will compete with the Reds for Kelly. Alasdair Gold stated in a question-and-answer session with Football.London that Spurs will ‘definitely’ look at him in January after having earlier requests turned down.
Kelly had a difficult 2022–23 season due to injuries, but as a free agent next summer, he might be worth the risk, according to Liverpool.com. Kelly might be signed to add some youth to the back line and provide a key left-footed option as Jol Matip ages.
After the weekend, Liverpool is reluctant to face Spurs again, but historically, Liverpool has fared better in the transfer market. Most recently, Luis Dáz was taken from Tottenham without their knowledge.
