SHOCKING NEWS! BOSTON CELTICS SEEKING BRUTAL TRADE? PLAYER IN TROUBLE?
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Boston Celtics are anticipated to be aggressive in the trade market as they seek to bolster their bench.
The NBA insider mentioned that following the Jrue Holiday trade during the offseason, the Celtics still had assets up for grabs. Charania thinks Boston will try to use those resources to add depth to the bench.
On Monday, Charania stated on Run It Back, “They’re going to be aggressive in just seeing what could be out there for bench help” (1:20 mark).
The Celtics are 20-5 so far this season, which leads the NBA, but one of the main concerns has been depth. It appears that the Celtics may soon expand their bench.
Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Kristaps Porzingis are the starting lineup for the Celtics. Boston doesn’t have many good bench alternatives outside of Al Horford, Sam Hauser, and Payton Pritchard.
Although it hasn’t hampered Boston’s performance thus far, a protracted season could cause it to become less effective.
After losing to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals the previous season, the Celtics are hoping to return to the NBA Finals. They want to do this by adding certain players to the
bench could aid them in that quest.
Meanwhile, Boston will continue to lean on the new trio of Tatum, Brown and Porzingis. The group has been exciting early on, with Tatum averaging 27.3 points per game, Brown averaging 22.3 points per game and Porzingis averaging 18.9 points per game.
The Celtics have also got solid production from the new addition of Holiday, who is averaging 12.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. White has also anchored the Celtics at point guard, averaging 15.3 points and 5.1 assists per game.
As great as the Celtics’ starters have been this season, they will be looking to add some production off the bench as they continue their quest for a championship.
