After pulling off a fantastic comeback on Tyneside, the Reds defeated the Magpies 3-1 to record their first victory under their new head coach.
Alexander Isak had given Newcastle the lead from the penalty spot, but Chris Wood leveled the score just before halftime. In the second half, the New Zealander scored twice more to record his first Premier League hat-trick.
After the match, Nuno talked with Forest TV about the victory:
Regarding the triumph…
“The boys deserve all the credit.”
“They deserve credit for their job, even if we haven’t been here for very long.
“We would want to congratulate our supporters and the players. Once again, they were fantastic and really helpful.
“Enjoy this time, but let’s go farther than this. We are aware that there is not much time left and that we must relax.

“The atmosphere shifts when you enter the changing room right before halftime after scoring a goal.
“The lads are really excited about it; we had a great conversation at halftime and decided to try again in the second half. We had a great opportunity via Morgan to start the second half, and it gave us hope.
Regarding Chris Wood’s treble…
“He scored the goals in an incredible manner.
“I will love seeing him score the second goal again and again because of how well he completed it.
“Congratulations to Chris, but the players behind him have to work really hard for Chris to score goals.”
