Derrick White was so ticked off at Jayson Tatum over a petty move his teammate pulled on Monday night.
The Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers 126-115 on Christmas. In the final seconds of the game, White passed the ball to teammate Tatum, who refused to catch the pass. Instead, Tatum let the ball go past him to Austin Reaves. Tatum’s petty move meant White was charged with a turnover.
White couldn’t believe what Tatum had done and the two had an exchange.
Tatum apparently mistakenly thought that he would have been charged with a turnover had the shot clock expired while he was in possession of the ball. But that sort of violation would be a team turnover, not an individual turnover like the one that was charged to White.
The Celtics only committed 8 turnovers in the game. White was charged with 2 turnovers in 35 minutes and had 11 assists in the game. Maybe next time Tatum won’t hang him out to dry.
