Christie Sides’ Honest Review of Caitlin Clark After Rough Fouls by Sky.
With a career-high 31 points, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark enjoyed the game of her life in their decisive victory over the Chicago Sky on the road on Friday, winning 100–81. In order to lead the Fever to their fourth victory in five games, Clark added four rebounds and twelve assists. She also became the first player in WNBA history to have three games with at least 25 points and 10 assists in a season, setting a new record.
In front of an antagonistic crowd of over 9,500 at Wintrust Arena on “Barbie Night,” which honored the Sky’s rookie rival Angel Reese, the 22-year-old guard accomplished the feat. Even after the Sky had given her two blatant fouls, she remained unaffected. Christie Sides, the Fever coach, acknowledged Clarks’ fire after the game, particularly during intense fights. “Caitlin Clark just gives you energy, right?” According to a report by Chloe Peterson of IndyStar, Sides stated. She just is that way. She merely maintains it alive, but she is aware of when to activate it.
“You know, she’s a fierce competitor. It’s like just trickling off to our other players.”
Clark, who was recently named Eastern Conference Player of the Month, indeed had plenty of help. Kelsey Mitchell tallied 23 points, while NaLyssa Smith and Lexie Hull combined for 25 markers. The Fever improved to 16-16.
Clark and the Fever beat Reese and the Sky for the third time in four matchups, pushing her chances to win the Rookie of the Year plum.
“Honestly, I just had a lot of fun playing,” the former Iowa standout said in the report. “I thought we played with a lot of joy. We played up-tempo. We shared the ball.”
