After creating history against Sun, Caitlin Clark of Fever gives an open message.
During Tuesday’s 84-80 Indiana Fever victory over the Connecticut Sun, Aitlin Clark made WNBA history. According to ESPN, Clark overtook Rhyne Howard as the rookie with the most three-pointers made in a single season. Clark gave the Indiana Fever credit for her squad and the supporters after the game.
After the game, Clark told reporters, “I’m proud of our group.” “I think our audience was really amazing, and we came in incredibly pumped and excited for this game. They had a great time playing the game. That is undoubtedly very helpful, particularly if you need to make a large stop there at the end. That is really, really big. I just feel so grateful that there seems to be an extra defender on the field.”
On Tuesday, Clark strengthened her argument for WNBA Rookie of the Year. In addition to his 19 points, the rookie for the Fever also contributed five assists, five rebounds, one steal, and one block. Naturally, it will also help that he sets a new record for the most three-pointers made by a rookie in a single season in the WNBA.
The Fever are rising quickly in the rankings. Since the end of the Olympic break, Indiana is now 4-1. The play of Kelsey Mitchell has been spectacular lately, and it was again on Tuesday. With 23 points in the victory, Mitchell led the Fever. She also contributed two blocks, three assists, and four rebounds.
The New York Liberty seem ready to secure the best record in the conference, and the Fever are still 11 games behind in the Eastern Conference. But all Indiana has to do is purchase their postseason ticket. Once the postseason begins, anything can happen if they manage to pull off that accomplishment.
The Fever will attempt to maintain their current level of play as they get ready to travel for two games. On Friday, Indiana will take on the Chicago Sky before traveling to Dallas to play the Wings.
