Indiana Fever Star Lands on Injury Report Before Sun Clash.
On Wednesday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will face the Connecticut Sun for the fourth and final time of the 2024 WNBA season.
The Fever have been one of the best teams after the Olympic break, going 3-1 with every victory against a playoff-contending team.
However, Indiana could be without one of their starters for the upcoming game.
According to IndyStar Sports writer Chloe Peterson, forward Katie Lous Samuelson has been added to the Fever’s injury report due to personal reasons.
This may not come as a surprise to many, as Samuelson took herself out of the Fever vs. Dream game after six minutes of action on Monday because she was not feeling well.
Samuelson has been a key contributor for a Fever team with playoff aspirations. The former UConn Huskies standout has started in exactly 50% of Indiana’s games this season. She is averaging 4.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
If Samuelson is ruled out for Wednesday’s game, the Fever may look to replace her in the starting lineup with guard Lexie Hull, who recently recorded a career-high of 22 points. Forward Temi Fagbenle could also be an option to replace Samuelson.
The Fever go into the Sun game with a 14-16 record on the season. They sit in third place in the Eastern Conference standings and own the seventh seed for the WNBA playoffs.
