Two-time All-Star expected to sign with the Braves after the 2024 season.
One of baseball’s best rosters is that of the Atlanta Braves.
Atlanta has seen a great deal of injury this season, and the 2024 campaign as a whole has been a little disappointing. The Braves went into the season with great expectations, but injuries have drastically reduced their chances of reaching the World Series.
Atlanta should be among the best teams in baseball again and have a chance to contend for a championship the following season despite this. The future of All-Star starter Max Fried, however, will be a crucial decision to be made.
Two-time All-Star Fried has become an absolute ace with Atlanta. However, at the end of the season, he will be a free agent. Although it’s uncertain what will happen to him, Michael Brakebill of FanSided anticipated that he will re-sign with Atlanta.
“Given that Spencer Strider went down early, followed by the crucial blow of losing Ronald Acuna Jr., Atlanta is seeing its 2024 campaign quickly go down the tubes,” Brakebill stated. “The starting rotation has remained strong, and it makes too much sense to stick with Max Fried as another effective starter when Strider returns next season. Then, as you had hoped for this season, you have Fried, Chris Sale, Reynaldo Lopez, and Strider. In the American League East, a healthy Atlanta team challenges the Philadelphia Phillies, and they’ll probably try to win it back the following season. Braves of Atlanta are my pick.
If the Braves can find a way to keep Fried, it would significantly improve their chances of winning the World Series next year.
