When do the Olympics in Paris in 2024 end? A brief overview of the closing ceremony.
PARIS (AP) — The Olympics in Paris will soon come to an end.
American gymnastics star Simone Biles triumphantly returned, increasing her total number of Olympic gold medals to seven. After winning five medals, including four gold ones, French swimmer Leon Marchand lived up to the Michael Phelps comparisons. While Armand “Mondo” Duplantis did win another gold medal, it was his eighth world record break that stole the attention of the 80,000 spectators at the Stade de France, the venue of Sunday’s closing ceremony.
There has also been debate. Errors over the gender of Algerian boxer Imane Khelif have thrust her into the public eye.
Most of the time, the Paris Games organizers have done a great job showcasing the splendor of the French metropolis. There has been beach volleyball near the Eiffel Tower. However, hosting activities on the contaminated Seine River has proven to be more challenging.
Who will triumph in the Olympics in 2024?
China is ranked second in the medal standings, after the United States. Britain, France, and Australia are competing for third place. Here is the Olympic program for Wednesday, along with a list of all the medal winners.
What is the final Olympic event scheduled for 2024?
The final event before the closing ceremony is the gold medal game for women’s basketball. The game is set to begin at Bercy Arena at 3:30 p.m. CEST (9:30 a.m. EDT).
After the daring opening ceremony took place near the Seine River, this location is more traditional, but don’t expect a drab affair. Thomas Jolly, the same artistic director, is featured. In a recent announcement, the organizers indicated that “over a hundred performers, acrobats, dancers, and circus artists” will be participating. A portion of the show will be in the air, and the enormous sets, costumes, and amazing lighting effects will transport viewers to both the past and the future. There will also be musical performances, and “the participation of world-renowned singers will complete the picture.”
Jolly added: “It’s a very visual, very choreographic, very acrobatic show with an operatic dimension to give a great visual fresco and say goodbye to athletes from all over the world.”
