Injury Boost from Michael Harris II for the Atlanta Braves
Michael Harris II of the Atlanta Braves hasn’t played since June 14th, but that will soon change.
With the long-awaited return of a vital player to the lineup, the Atlanta Braves provided an update. Michael Harris II, an outfielder, will start his rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday night.
The Braves believed Harris would return, which is one of the reasons they weren’t as aggressive at the trade deadline this season. It is just as nice to get him back into the lineup as it is to acquire him at the deadline.
Harris hasn’t played since he had a Grade 2 hamstring strain in the middle of June. He was placed on the 10-Day Injured List at first as he recovered with gentle activities.
But when it became apparent that he needed more time, on July 24, he was moved to the 60-day in order to make room on the roster. After all, a partial tear is indicated by a Grade 2 strain.
Jorge Soler’s arrival means Harris won’t probably bat first like he did before Acuña’s injury. Once his rehab assignment is up, expect him to return to the second place like he did while Acuña was still in the lineup.
