Braves make two crucial injury decisions.
Following injuries, the Atlanta Braves are rearranging their roster. According to MLB.com, the organization is activated pitcher Ian Anderson and outfielder Ramon Laureano from the injured list. As Anderson, the pitcher, heals from Tommy John surgery, Laureano was struggling with an oblique issue. Both players will probably be used as soon as the Braves can. The squad is currently vying for a spot in the National League East with a 53-42 record. The Philadelphia Phillies lead the team by eight games. While Anderson is currently recovering in the farm system, Laureano is a member of the 40-man roster. What these additions mean for the Braves.
Atlanta is expected to have a fantastic season, and these two players’ arrivals will only make it better. Laureano is an outfielder who not only provides excellent defense but also depth for the squad in that area. The outfielder is hitting well this season.257 across 11 games. Having batted in four runs, he has one home run.
According to the Atlanta Journal- Constitution, club manager Brian Snitker described Laureano as a “really good defender; he can pinch-run.” He will be used off the bench and against lefties. He had a good bat swing. His arm orientation is what I appreciate. We’ll have a good piece in him, in my opinion. Anderson is playing for Triple-A Gwinnett in the minor leagues. The pitcher had Tommy John surgery in 2023, and he has been gradually getting better ever since. In the minor leagues, he has had success with a 2.19 ERA in 2024. In a little over 12 innings of action in the minor leagues, he has also recorded 10 strikeouts.
The veteran pitcher contributed to the team’s postseason trips in 2020 and 2021. In2021, he was a part of the team’s World Series victory. He’s OK, Snitker continued. “He is now operational at Gwinnett (Triple-A). Everything I’ve heard has been incredibly encouraging, and he seems to be moving forward at full speed. Thus, that is extremely optimistic.
In the NL East, the Braves are attempting to stay up with the Phillies. Although Anderson’s return to his previous level of performance is still some distance off, the pitcher is making progress. The squad needs depth in the outfield, which Laureano gives it right now. On Saturday, Atlanta will play the St. Louis Cardinals in their next game. In the campaign for the NL Wild Card, the two teams are competing for a spot. At 1:00 Eastern, the first pitch is expected to be made.
