HEARTBREAKING: Purdue Star Max Klare Made A Sad Statement After Returning to form…..
WEST LAFAYETTE: Max Klare was poised for a breakthrough campaign.
After that, he was sidelined for the last seven games due to a non-contact leg injury sustained against Illinois.
However, if spring practices are any guide, Klare is regaining the form that rendered the 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end indispensable to Purdue football’s attack.
Graham Harrell, the offensive coordinator, stated, “He’s looked really good and we’ve tried to be smart with his reps this spring, coming off the injury.” “But when he’s out there, he can do some great things and it’s a luxury.”
Klare played in the first five games last season, starting four.

His coming out party came in his first start, at Virginia Tech, where Klare caught eight passes for 64 yards.
Klare would snag 22 receptions for 196 yards, becoming a reliable short yardage option.
“Among the best tight ends I’ve ever encountered is him. As a quarterback, Hudson Card praised the player. “He runs some of the best routes I’ve seen, and he can block as well. He does certain amazing things and makes my life easier.”
Klare showed he’s well on his way back to being a valuable component of Purdue’s tight end corps last Saturday in the spring game. Luke, Klare’s brother, will also play tight end for the team this coming season as a freshman walk-on.
Now that Purdue is in its second season under Harrell and head coach Ryan Walters, with Card at the center, Klare has a greater knowledge of the team’s scheme.
As he gets back to 100 percent, Klare wants to showcase that last season was just a small taste of what he’s capable of.
Klare hopes to become one of the best tight ends in the Big Ten.
“That’s what I’m reaching for,” Klare said. “Whether I get it or not, who knows, but it’s what I’m reaching for every day.”
