Pete Rose, a legend in baseball, celebrated his 82nd birthday on Friday night at Bridgestone Arena by watching the Nashville Predators play the Colorado Avalanche in the regular-season finale.
It was unclear how Rose was related to the Predators. The Predators’ coaching staff invited him inside the team’s locker room after the game, and he was featured on the big screen during the match. Rose visited and snapped pictures with a few players and staff members, including Barry Trotz, who would go on to become general manager.
a lifetime.Rose, a 303 hitter over 24 seasons, is regarded as one of the greatest batters in Major League Baseball history since he has the most hits ever (4,256).
After an MLB inquiry revealed that Rose bet on baseball games while managing the Cincinnati Reds, including ones involving his own team, he is still not eligible to be admitted to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Rose says he never bet against the Reds after first denying ever having placed a baseball wager.
