F1 News: Red Bull Advisor Comments on Sergio Perez Contract to the……

This rings particularly true for Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, whose recent surge in form has caught the attention of many, including advisor Helmut Marko. As the 2024 F1 season unfolds, Perez’s performance will be directly linked to his chances of a contract with Milton Keynes next season.

Helmut Marko, a key figure in Red Bull’s strategic decisions, shed light on this development in an interview with Sky Germany, as quoted by Crash.net.

“Last year [in Japan] in particular was Sergio’s worst race. Everything went wrong then, so I think it’s particularly satisfying for him. You can see he can do it. But perhaps it also plays a role that next year’s contracts are at stake – this year much earlier than usual. That also seems to be very motivating.

“Normally we don’t talk about driver decisions at all in April. But somehow, the whole thing seems to have moved forward a lot. But it’s still too early for us. We will certainly wait sometime before we make a decision.”
