MyCole Pruitt, a tight end, signed a one-year contract with the Steelers.
Entering his tenth season, Pruitt has participated in 109 games in his career, 39 of which he has started. With 71 receptions, he has 9 touchdowns and 748 yards gained.
Arthur Smith, the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, where Pruitt played for the previous two seasons.
He participated in 30 games while in Atlanta, starting 12. In two seasons, he caught 25 passes for 260 yards and five touchdowns.
Prior to signing with the Falcons, he spent the better part of four seasons with the Tennessee Titans (2018-21), under the direction of Smith, who was the tight ends coach and then offensive coordinator. He played in 57 games with the Titans, starting 23. He had 34 receptions for 386 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Minnesota Vikings selected Pruitt in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, he participated in 16 games, starting three, and had 10 receptions for 89 yards.
He played for the Vikings and the Chicago Bears in 2016, seeing action on both the active roster and practice squad. He appeared in four games overall, hauling in two receptions for 13 yards. He also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, and Buffalo Bills.
As part of the Missouri Valley Football Conference’s 30th anniversary, Pruitt, a college football player at Southern Illinois, was named the finest tight end in the conference’s history. The consensus First-Team All-American for 2013 and 2014 was him.
