BREAKING NEWS: Adam Reynolds Announce To Leave The Club If Nothing Is Done About This..
The NRL world was shocked to see Broncos captain Adam Reynolds in tears at halftime at his most recent injury setback, despite the Melbourne Storm pulling off a thrilling 34–32 victory over Brisbane.
After playing a major role in the Broncos’ 18-16 lead in the shadow of halftime, Reynolds collided with Cameron Munster in a seemingly benign moment that may have resulted in a knee-on-knee confrontation, leaving the star halfback clutching his tightly strapped right leg.
It’s a leg that has caused him plenty of issues in recent times.
Reynolds did manage to get back into the line despite his limp before grubbering into the in-goal to close out the first half.
But as he was leaving the field, the 33-year-old champion punched the ground, setting off a series of horrifying events.
Reynolds was visibly distraught as the cameras discovered him in the sheds.
At the interval, Michael Ennis remarked, “You can see the devastation on his face; it doesn’t look like he’s coming back.”
Brisbane has suffered a terrible hit as a result.
For the rest of the game, Reynolds was definitely out due to what appeared to be a meniscus injury.
However, on Channel 9, Danika Mason reported the Broncos staff said it was “a strain to his lower hamstring”.
Fox confirmed soon after, saying the team was hopeful it was a “low-grade” hamstring strain.
“Somewhat relieving news for Adam Reynolds and the Broncos. Initial fears was he had that knee on knee contact with Cam Munster,” Lara Pitt said.
“However once he got into the sheds and spoke with the Broncos doctors he revealed that he felt hamstring tightness. After further assessment they are hopeful it is a low grade strain to his hamstring.
“I guess a much better diagnosis than a very serious knee injury.”
In the press conference, Reynolds said the hamstring “didn’t feel good at half-time” but that he’d go back to Brisbane and get a scan.
“I felt it early on in the game and it gradually got worse,” Reynolds said.
“I attempted to launch… I attempted to take advantage of the space on the short side when I noticed it, but I was unable to make it to halftime. Not feeling well there.
He wasn’t going to make assumptions about how horrible things might have been, though.
However, Reynolds has had a terrible run of injuries lately, raising concerns about the amount of more suffering his body can withstand.
The depressing image of Reynolds upset in the locker rooms horrified many.
“Yet another setback, it’s all catching up with Adam Reynolds and Broncos hopes hinge so much on him,” tweeted reporter Robert Smith.
Mark Gottlieb, a reporter, posted: “Wow, you don’t often see Adam Reynolds display that level of feeling. Seems broken in the outbuildings. It would be quite annoying to sustain another knee injury.
The All Things Rugby League X account commented: “Hamstring for Reynolds! That’s a relief.”
