Texans Free Agent Sheldon Rankins Expected To Sign With Bengals – Tracker
MARCH 13 RANKINS TO CINCI The Houston Texans were already unlikely to bring back free agent defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins. But now, it seems all but certain.
According to reports from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Rankins is closing in on a deal to sign with the Cincinnati Bengals. Per Fowler, it is expected that the deal will be done by Wednesday night.
Rankins played just one year for the Texans, making six sacks and 37 tackles.
He first came to Houston as a free agent on a one-year deal after two seasons with the Jets.
Rankins came to the NFL after being selected with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Saints and proceeded to play five seasons in New Orleans.

MAR 11 HUFF HEADS TO PHILLY Former New York Jets defensive end and potential Houston Texans target Bryce Huff has agreed to terms on a three-year, $51.5 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to reports.
Huff, 25, is the highest-paid non-QB undrafted free agent in NFL history. After signing with New York out of Memphis in 2020, Huff would go on to total 17.5 sacks in four seasons.
Last year, Huff totaled a career-high 10 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss with the Jets. Philadelphia is expected to part ways with both outside linebacker Haason Reddick and defensive end Josh Sweat before the start of the regular season.
