By bringing in some competition for the No. 3 quarterback position, the Philadelphia Eagles are reorganizing their quarterback room. According to ESPN, Will Grier inked a one-year contract with Philadelphia, where he will face Tanner McKee for the No. 3 spot on the roster.
Although Grier spent the 2022 preseason with the Dallas Cowboys while Moore was the offensive coordinator and signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in December after Justin Herbert was lost for the season, Grier does have some experience with the new offensive coordinator of the Eagles, Kellen Moore. Moore oversaw the offense for the Chargers the previous season.
The Eagles have a front-runner for the No. 3 quarterback job in McKee, who was a sixth-round choice by the team out of Stanford last year. In the preseason, McKee had a strong performance. He completed passes for 453 yards and a touchdown while displaying composure and leadership in the offense. Naturally, that was with Brian Johnson, the former offensive coordinator for the Eagles who is currently in Washington.
Under Moore, Philadelphia made some changes in the quarterback room by adding Kenny Pickett, who will start for the team as Jalen Hurts’ backup and remain under team control for two years. Grier and McKee will fight for the No. 3 spot, but McKee is predicted to be the favorite.
